There must be tariff adjustments for hospitals

Minister Amar Ramadhin of Health emphasizes the importance of replacement investments in healthcare. He states that hospitals are currently operating below cost and that urgent tariff adjustments are needed to ensure financial sustainability.
The minister mentioned this prior to the Council of Ministers (RvM) meeting. Discussions with the Ministry of Finance and Planning are underway to develop a plan that will enable hospitals to better cover their costs.
Ramadhin indicates that adjustments to tariffs for hospital stays, laboratory tests, and radiology are necessary. These measures are aimed at strengthening the financial position of hospitals and improving healthcare in the country.
Furthermore, he expressed his commitment to his role and emphasized that he does not know if he is at risk of being dismissed. He calls for more respect for the work of ministers and states that, if necessary, he will respect the president’s decision to dismiss him.
However, he added that, so far, there have been no indications that this is the case. “It is important that statements about a possible dismissal are not made lightly. As of now, I am still the minister, so you will have to deal with me,” the minister added.
