Recent footage, obtained by Suriname suriname, shows that the kitchen of the main barracks of the National Army, the Memre Boekoe barracks on Verlengde Gemenelandsweg, is in a very unhygienic state. Soldiers have been reporting the poor conditions for some time, but so far little has been done to address the situation.
Photo: Suriname surinameThe footage shows that the kitchen is struggling with outdated facilities and insufficient cleaning, which may pose health risks for the soldiers who use it daily. Despite repeated complaints, the situation remains concerning.
Photo: Suriname surinameIt is unclear whether the Ministry of Defense will take steps to improve the conditions in the barracks in the short term. The soldiers hope that action will be taken soon.
