Soeparmin ‘Djojo’ Djojobesari denies that he will soon be taken into custody by the judicial authorities. Furthermore, he does not wish to comment on this matter. Last weekend, PL chairman Paul Somohardjo stated during a structural meeting of his party that the Javanese leaders who currently support the ABOP should be careful not to end up behind bars soon.
Somohardjo also mentioned that no family member of his has ever been incarcerated. Djojobesari is not concerned about Somohardjo’s remarks made during a party meeting. In an interview with Radio ABC, the politician, who claims to have a support base of 11,000 people, said that the Public Prosecutor’s Office (OM) started an investigation four years ago regarding the Housing Fund for Low-Income Groups (FWLI). As an entrepreneur, he provided services for this project. The investigation is currently with the examining magistrate.
Djojobesari asserts that there is no chance he will be arrested. He is accustomed to Somohardjo making statements or resorting to blackmail when he is in trouble. Djojobesari emphasizes that this is not an unknown case and that the investigation is ongoing in court. The chairman of the newly established political party Democrats of Suriname (DVS) states that he has been interrogated as a witness in this matter and is waiting to see what happens next.
The politician is used to Somohardjo’s strange antics, as he always begins to blackmail and makes statements when he is in trouble. Djojobesari claims to have no fear at all. He has already shared his account with the examining magistrate and is now waiting further developments.
He also states that he pays no mind to former first lady Ingrid Bouterse-Waldring, who claimed he should no longer refer to himself as a Boutist. Djojobesari maintains that he is still a revolutionary and wants to focus solely on the 2025 elections. He is very pleased with the collaboration with the ABOP.
The politician also indicated that there were plans to unite all Javanese parties and work together with the ABOP toward the elections. According to Djojobesari, it was actually the PL that pulled out of this initiative.
